Building capacity for teaching and learning research

چکیده

Building research-capacity is an important element in the contemporary political economy of social science research. For example, the principal funding body, the ESRC, continues to invest substantially in the development of researchcapacity through, for example, its Research Methods Programme and its recently announced National Centre for Research Methods, to be located at Southampton University. In a more specific context, the TLRP maintains its commitment to the development of capacity in teaching and learning research; and this too reflects the current priorities of the ESRC, as well as the government agencies and departments which are ultimately responsible for the Programme’s funding.
